This is the perfect way to experience the community life of the Bakonzo tribe, indigenous to the Rwenzori mountains of the moon and Eastern Congo. Meet the village blacksmith, storyteller, farmer, traditional healer and local basket weavers through this village tour.

You will see how the Bakonzo tend their animals and crops.  Visit with the black smith, traditional healer, basket weavers story teller and local farmer.

From the black smith, you can make or buy and take home your own traditional tools like knives, spears etc.

Climb the Rwenzori foothills up to 2400m in a one overnight trek in the community reserve located besides the national park. The hill trek is a great opportunity for you to view Margarita peak (5109m) the highest point of Rwenzori.

This tour is packed with both nature and culture encounters of the two national parks that boarder with the democratic republic of Congo in the west of Uganda. Common site are the scenaries, plenty of wildlife, the peoples cultural settings and African Architecture. The trip takes you five days and nights staying in the community lodge(s) just outside the parks.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth national park (D)

Day 2: Early morning transfer to Rwenzori Mountains to start trekking overnight (BLD)

Day 3: Explore the foothills of Rwenzori and later transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park (BLD)

Day 4: Explore Queen Elizabeth national park with two game drives and boat cruise (BLD)
