Authentic activities at Ruboni Community Camp
Where all profits go back to the local community that has 100% ownership
During your stay at Ruboni Community Camp you can enjoy one or more of the following activities. They can be booked either in advance or on the reception at the camp.
Restaurant: A favorite with the locals, the camp restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, alcoholic beverages and a range of delicious snacks.
Village Tour: The perfect way to experience the community life of the Bakonzo tribe. Meet the village blacksmith, storyteller, farmer, traditional healer and local basket weavers.
Hill Climbing Hike: Hike to the top of the community park (2800 M asl) and if the weather is clear the snow capped peak of Rwenzori's Margarita can be viewed.
Forest Hike: Explore the lush forest surrounding the mountains without paying the park fee, cross beautiful rivers and learn more about the wildlife within the community .
Traditional Dance: An impressive display of cultural dancing and music with the opportunity to take part yourself!
Accommodation: Ruboni Community Camp offers you the choice between a fully contained Banda (small cottage), a furnished rooms with natural finishing or the possibility to hire or pitch your own tent, all with hot showers and breath taking views of the rwenzoris.
